Avon-by-the-Sea, often simply called Avon, is a small borough nestled between Belmar, Bradley Beach, Neptune City and Neptune Township, and only minutes away from Asbury Park on the beautiful Jersey Shore. It is near major highways such as Route 71, Route 35, Route 138/I-195 and the Garden State Parkway. Public transportation is within minutes with bus service and NJ Transit train service out of Belmar, Bradley Beach or Asbury Park stations.
The Avon School District serves public school students in Kindergarten through eight grade at Avon Elementary School. Avon School system has a 5-star rating by greatschools.org and niche.com with a 8 to 1 student-teacher ratio. It is rated as #12 best public schools in Monmouth County with an overall Niche grade of A.
There is a multitude of places to eat in and around Avon, catering to even the most demanding tastes. Combined with many attractions you can find things to do all year long. From concerts at nearby PNC Bank Arts Center, one of the world’s most well-know music venues The Stone Pony in nearby Asbury Park, to many charter boats, fishing trips, parasailing, surfing, theaters and other attractions, everyone can find something for themselves.
Avon-by-the-Sea Public Beach is vey well-maintained sandy beach with surfing and swimming areas, seasonal lifeguards and restrooms. It is described by yelp.com as very clean, with nice and soft sand, clear water that allows you to head out decently far into the ocean and still see your feet.
I have always dreamed of living in Avon by the Sea permanently since the “80s” and now I am finally here, not only in Avon by the Sea but also in a beautiful new apartment in close proximity to everything!. I absolutely love my new home.
